Harry Porter in my frosted Pisces glass

Brewery: Great Lakes Brewery
Style: Porter
ABV: 6.5%      IBU: 18

Stemming from our Project X line, Tank Ten is a tickle trunk of tasty treats. This series is payback to our hard working brewers. We’ve reserved fermenting tank number ten for them and have given them the green light to brew whatever the heck they want. Bottoms up!

Maltus Darknor says, “Drink this concoction fresh.”

Pouring black with a tan-coloured head, this porter has an opaque body and a thin remnant of minimal lacing.

Full of rich, decadent aromas including dark chocolate and roasted malts, Harry Porter features lovely biscuit aromas with a hint of coffee and notes of vanilla.

The flavour of this beer follows the aroma quite closely with a fantastic mix of dark chocolate, biscuit, and some roasted coffee bitterness that is nicely balanced by a touch of nuttiness and some vanilla. Rich and decadent but not overwhelming, this porter is a fantastic example of the style with a great flavour profile.

A thick, chewy body provides a fantastic backbone to the heavy flavours and toasty texture of this brew. A small amount of lingering stickiness brings out the slightly hoppy bitterness that balances out the dominant malts.
